Registration Fees
- Early Bird Author Registration – US$499 For authors keen on availing a $100 discount on the regular registration fee, early bird registration is recommended.
- Regular Author Registration – US$599 If the early bird deadline has been missed, authors can opt for the regular registration process.
- Listener Registration – US$499 Individuals interested in attending the conference to expand their knowledge and network can register as listeners.

Invitation Letter Support
Registered participants of the 36th International Conference on African Culture and Sociology may formally request an official invitation letter to support their travel and visa application process. This letter is issued by the conference secretariat upon successful completion of registration and payment, and it confirms the individual’s accepted role as a presenter, attendee, or panelist at the Pickering event.
Invitation letters are prepared with the participant’s full name, institutional affiliation, registration details, and conference dates as provided during registration. Requests should be submitted through the designated portal on the conference website, and the secretariat endeavors to process and dispatch letters within three to five business days of receiving a complete and accurate application.
Please be advised that the issuance of an official invitation letter by the conference organizing committee does not guarantee the granting of a visa or entry permit by Canadian immigration authorities. All visa decisions rest solely with the relevant embassy or consulate, and applicants are encouraged to begin their visa process well in advance of the conference dates.
Before You Register
- Registration fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person. If your visa is refused, you get 50% off one new registration for a later edition in your name.
- Your invitation letter is emailed within 3 to 5 business days after your payment is verified.
- You arrange your own visa, travel and accommodation.

The 36th International Conference on African Culture and Sociology warmly invites researchers and practitioners to submit original papers that advance our collective understanding of African cultural life and social life. Accepted work may be considered for the conference proceedings where applicable and is presented during the event in Pickering, Canada.

Paper and Abstract Submission
Authors are invited to submit abstracts, research papers, case studies, review papers or professional practice presentations.
All submissions are reviewed before acceptance. Submitted work should be original and not previously published.
For the 36th edition, papers can cover any of the conference tracks, for example Decolonizing African sociological frameworks, Pan-Africanism and continental identity politics or Urbanization and shifting social structures.

Submission Guidelines
- Submissions must be written in English.
- Submissions must be original and relevant to the conference theme.
- Abstracts should clearly describe the purpose, method, findings and relevance of the work.
- Full papers should normally be between 4 and 12 pages.
- Authors must complete registration after acceptance to confirm participation.
Peer Review Details
All full paper submissions to the 36th International Conference on African Culture and Sociology undergo a double-blind peer review process, with each manuscript evaluated by reviewers in the field. Reviewers assess submissions on the basis of scholarly originality, methodological soundness, theoretical engagement, and relevance to African cultural and sociological discourse before acceptance decisions are communicated to authors.
