Upon successful registration for the 17th International Conference on African Economics and Development in Toronto, participants may formally request an official invitation letter from the conference secretariat. This document is prepared on conference letterhead and includes your name, institutional affiliation, the conference dates, and the Toronto venue details, serving as confirmation of your accepted role as a participant, presenter, or invited speaker at the event.
Invitation letters are intended to support attendees in making logistical arrangements for their travel, including applications for study or conference-related travel authorizations where required by their home institutions or funding bodies. The secretariat processes these requests promptly following payment confirmation, and letters are delivered via email in PDF format to ensure timely receipt for any administrative procedures you may need to complete.
Please note that while the conference secretariat is pleased to provide this official invitation letter as a courtesy to registered participants, the issuance of such a letter does not guarantee the approval of a visa or entry permit to Canada. All visa and travel authorization decisions rest solely with Canadian immigration authorities, and applicants are strongly encouraged to initiate their visa applications well in advance of the conference dates through the appropriate official channels.

Call for Papers – 17th International Conference on African Economics and Development
The 17th ICAED invites original research submissions that push the boundaries of economic thinking about Africa’s development challenges and opportunities. We particularly welcome empirical studies, comparative analyses, and theoretical contributions that offer fresh perspectives on the continent’s changing economic landscape.
Accepted work may be considered for the conference proceedings where applicable and is presented during the event in Toronto, Canada.

Paper and Abstract Submission
Authors are invited to submit abstracts, research papers, case studies, review papers or professional practice presentations.
All submissions are reviewed before acceptance. Submitted work should be original and not previously published.
For the 17th edition, papers can cover any of the conference tracks, for example Economic Governance and Public Institutions, Social Protection Systems or Economic Recovery and Resilience Strategies.

Submission Guidelines
- Submissions must be written in English.
- Submissions must be original and relevant to the conference theme.
- Abstracts should clearly describe the purpose, method, findings and relevance of the work.
- Full papers should normally be between 4 and 12 pages.
- Authors must complete registration after acceptance to confirm participation.
